Haryana’s numerous districts are integral parts of the National Capital Region (NCR), encompassing the national capital of Delhi from three sides. A proposed 121.742 km semi high-speed rail line is set to connect Harsana Kalan (Sonipat) and Asaoti (Palwal) in Haryana, passing through 17 stations along the Kundli – Manesar – Palwal (KMP) / Western Peripheral Expressway—largely covering the Gurgaon district. Passenger trains operating on this new broad gauge line will provide connectivity via Sohna, Manesar, and Kharkoda, while freight trains will link major logistic hubs, adopting the Dedicated Freight Corridor standard for freight movement.

It's worth noting that road and rail infrastructure drive the economy, and Gurgaon is fortunate to have superb road infrastructure built by the state government and the Union, leading the city to become an economic hub in just a few decades. As commended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi the scheme is a reformative step towards establishment of clear ownership of property in rural inhabited areas, by mapping of land parcels using drone technology and providing 'Record of Rights' to village household owners with issuance of legal ownership cards (Property cards/Title deeds) to the property owners. It will help create accurate land records for planning in the rural areas which is understood as a wonderful move in order to build better urban planning. A high potential zone like Gurgaon will get advantage of it and it will help carve a better planning in villages like in planned sectors and real estate promoters have praised the government for this move.

This is a fact that inhabited rural areas and villages had not been surveyed in Haryana and other states in India thus no land records are available leading to the rural disputes over property ownerships – the villages and properties remained largely deprived of many government benefits because of lack of property ownership records. In the absence of legal property documents, the owners are unable to monetize their own property as a financial asset. Thus, in order to provide the legal rights of property to the owner in a speedy and cost-effective manner this scheme will bring reformation in the society.

Despite the mere twenty-five-kilometer distance between Gurgaon and Faridabad, it takes over an hour due to major bottleneck points within Gurgaon itself.

To address this issue, the government must identify and resolve bottleneck points causing traffic congestion on the Gurugram-Faridabad road. Problematic intersections such as Ghata Mod (Sector 55/56), DLF Phase-1, Golf Course Road, Bandhwadi, and others have emerged as major bottlenecks, leading to traffic congestions and snarls. A 2018/19 survey by GMDA highlighted significant commuter traffic from Faridabad to Gurugram, resulting in morning and evening rush hour challenges, time wastage, fuel consumption, and pollution.

The strengthening of SPR or Golf Course Extension Road is crucial in addressing these issues. The government should consider implementing flyovers and underpasses at busy intersections, widening existing roads, and constructing an underpass or flyover at DLF Phase-1. Additionally, provisions for vehicle underpasses at DLF Golf Course turn can help alleviate traffic backups at signal points.
