Gurgaon Metropolitan Development Authority’s (GMDA) plan to upgrade Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) as a model road, will improve mobility and in turn boost real estate in New Gurgaon .
According to the plan chalked out by GMDA, on this crucial road, 4 flyovers and one underpass will be constructed between Ghata Chowk and Delhi -Jaipur Highway , via Vatika chowk.. A detail project report ( DPR) prepared by GMDA, got approval in a recent GMDA meeting chaired by Haryana CM, Manohar Lal Khattar.Traffic from Cyber Hub, MG Road via Golf Course Road reaches SPR. Old Gurgaon traffic reaches SPR via Sohna Road. The traffic coming from Faridabad uses SPR to directly reach Delhi- Jaipur highway. As such there is a traffic load on this 6-lane 15 km long road that connects Ghata and Vatika Chowk with Delhi-Jaipur highway. While developing SPR as a model road, three 6-lane flyovers will be constructed between Ghata and Vatika chowk at crucial crossings of Sector 56-57 & 61-62, Sector 50-57 & 62-65, Sector 49-50 & 65-66.
Says Mr. Pradeep Aggarwal , Founder & Chairman, Signature Global and Chairman and Chairman, Assocham National Council on Real Estate, Housing & Urban Development, ” At a time when six laning of Sohna Road is nearing completion, the up gradation of SPR is a move to strengthen infrastructure. This will further provide connectivity/mobility boost to real estate on not just Sohna Road but also to entire New Gurgaon”.
