GMDA’s plan to introduce a hi-tech water management system in Gurgaon, will help improve water supply in the city, especially in developing sectors of New Gurgaon.
GMDA’s(Gurgaon Metropolitan Development Authority) water management project is meant to monitor, control and regulate the supply of piped water to city residents. The pilot project has been started at 10 locations between Basai and Dhanwapur. It includes installation of ultrasonic water flow meters with flow control valve and a level meter in the underground tanks. ,The idea is to ensure proper distribution of piped water in the city. Especially taking care of areas at a higher gradient where there is no proper supply. The system will do away with the need to have back up tubewells. It will also take care of the problems arising due to leakage. Another highlight of this prestigious project is that it will take care of the billing related complaints. As the water consumption will be continuously tracked, it will be possible to issue foolproof bills with correct readings.
Says Mr. Pradeep Aggarwal, Founder & Chairman, Signature Global Group and Chairman, Assocham National Council on Real Estate, Housing & Urban Development, ” This is a very good initiative on the part of GMDA. The developing sectors of New Gurgaon have been facing serious problem related to drinking water. The smart water management system, together with the ongoing process to lay pipelines , will ensure that all the sectors in the city get proper supply of piped potable water. This will help improve the livability quotient of Gurgaon, in turn making the real estate investment-friendly”.
