Karnal is undergoing Rs 1000 crore makeover under Smart City Project by way of infra upgrade projects related to smart schools, smart water supply system, smart waste disposal system, tourism, rain water harvesting and renovation of ponds, LED lights and open air gyms.
As part of the initiative to augment the supply of good quality and safe drinking water, a 100 million litres a day water treatment plant will come up on 42 acres near the Western Yamuna Canal for the purpose of releasing canal water into the city’s water distribution network.The Smart Water supply System will see sensors, pressure and flow meters installed to measure and control volume, pressure, leakage detection to ensure quality of water and real time pipe burst detection in the water supply network, helping authorities determine water supply and consumption in the city in real time. This new system would be integrated with the Command & Control Centre of the KSCL for strengthening water supply system by monitoring, managing and collecting data.
Karnal’s Smart City Project is also putting great focus on boosting sports facilities in the city. Karnal Smart City Limited (KSCL) is building an international cricket stadium at the cost of Rs 303 crore.An international standard Astroturf Hockey Ground is also being developed over 27 acres at the cost of Rs 14 crore. The facelift with upgraded facilities is also being provided to Karna Stadium and indoor sports complex at Nyaypuri at the cost of Rs 20 crore. Karnal is also being developed as a tourist hub with recreational and leisure facilities. For this purpose, Karna Lake is being redeveloped Under this plan, an island will be developed in the lake , complete with view decks and sculptures on Mahabharta Jogging and cycling tracks will be developed around periphery of lake. There will be fountains with light and sound effect.An anchor cafe, boating and shopping will be other major attractions.
All these infrastructure development and upgradation plans will prove to be a major booster for real estate developers engaged in the construction of flats in Karnal.
