How are the site visits likely to evolve post- lockdown

Buying a home in India is a process that usually involves the whole family. It is that decision where it will take multiple rounds to finalize the property for home-buyers. COVID-10 pandemic has put an unprecedented halt to the site visits due to various safety concerns. As states gradually ease the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, this may be a good time to consider a property purchase, because developers across the country have introduced various payment plans, discounts and offers for high-intent buyers. Now, with the lockdown being lifted, developers have resumed site-visits but with precautions only.

Before this pandemic situation, it was a normal usual routine for developers to arrange for multiple site-visits on a single day but as of now, frequency of site-visits dropping significantly. Though, developers are taking all sorts of measures to maintain safety on the sites and even the construction sites are getting monitored on a daily basis by maintaining the proper hygiene and cleanliness.

Mr. Pradeep Aggarwal, Founder & Chairman – Signature Global Group & Chairman – ASSOCHAM National Council on Real Estate, Housing and Urban Development, says, “Site visits are witnessing the drastic change after this pandemic with less frequency of visits and so businesses are turning digitally and developers are now encouraging with the digital visits and many home-buyers are showing the positive response towards digital platforms during the lockdown. We developers are ensuring all the safety guidelines with proper sanitization, thermal screening, social distancing norms, in case of any site-visits.
