The record ridership of one crore in a year and growing connectivity achieved by the city bus service run by Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) is set to provide a big fillip to real estate in Gurugram.
GMCBL data shows that there has been threefold rise in ridership between March and September this year, with the cumulative ridership topping one crore mark. The boost in ridership is attributed to increase in bus fleet , revising existing routes and introduction of new and better performing routes, especially covering New Gurugram.
There is an average passenger count of 50000 per day. There are plans to increase the number of bus routes to 25 by March 2020, up from 13 routes currently operational, om addition to increase the bus fleet.
Says Pradeep Aggarwal, Chairman, Assocham Council on Real Estate, Housing & Urban Development and Founder & chairman, Signature Global, ” Transport facility , particularly bus service assumes significance for New Gurugram as large areas still remain unconnected through metro rail. The City Bus Service connecting emerging areas of New Gurugram like Dwarka Expressway, South of Gurugram , Manesar etc. will serve to push up demand for housing in these areas”.
