Power infra upgrade to boost electricity supply in New Gurugram this summer

The power situation in New Gurugram sectors is set to improve significantly this summer as Dakshin Haryana Bijli  Vitran Nigam

(DHBVN) has persuaded real estate  developers to upgrade power infrastructure  by building 33kVA power stations by March end.

The inadequate power infra has been affecting power supply in New Gurugram sectors, forcing residents to depend on costly power from diesel gensets. DHBVN has calculated that in Sectors 58-115 in New Gurugram, 80 switching stations of 33kVA are required to meet the regular power needs of hundreds of residential and commercial entities in these sectors. While the work is in track for 50 switching stations, DHBVN has made it mandatory for developers to complete remaining 30 switching stations by March 31 this year.

Says Pradeep Aggarwal, Founder & Chairman, Signature Global and Chairman, Assocham National Council on Real Estate, Housing & Urban Development, ” Despite enough power availability with DHBVN, the residents have been facing power shortage due to insufficient supporting  power infra . With the power infra upgrade, the residents of New Gurugram sectors who are currently making do with 11kVA feeders will get permanent power connections and get sufficient power through 33lVA stations. This will considerably improve the quality of life in New Gurugram sectors, thereby boosting real estate demand and growth”.
