PMAY achieved the mark of 63 lakhs houses; more 50 lakhs en route

Basis a source, the PradhanMantriAwasYojana (PMAY) has accomplished over 63 lakhs houses under the scheme and 50 lakhs more houses would be sanctioned by the mid of 2019. The target is to build 1.1 crore such homes by the end of 2022.

The most important agenda about this mission is that each home will be built under the highest standards of sustainability and the constructions will be green and resilient.

Our country being the abode to the world’s second largest cement industry and also accounting for over 8 per cent of the globally installed capacity of 500 million tonnes from 250 large cement plants, a sustainable competitive advantage banking on new technologies, latest quality manufacturing processes, energy savings, low carbon footprint and a green future is being created by the same.

In accomplishing the goal of 2030 Sustainability Development Goals (SDG), India’s cement industry has a very vital and direct role to play in the nation building and would help our country evolve economically as well as in the real estate sector. This role by the cement industry will not only help in meeting the SDG 2030 goals, but also the SDG 2025 goals.

Mr.PradeepAggarwal, Co founder& Chairman, Signature Global and Chairman, National Council on Affordable Housing, ASSOCHAM says, “It’s delighting to see the accomplishments of the PMAY scheme. We’re happy that we are working under this scheme and have got the chance for the development and evolvement of India. Looking forward to a great future of our country.”
