The substantial increase in home sales in July- September quarter holds hope for further pick up during the upcoming festive season.
A recent JLL report has shown an average 34% increase in home sales in July- September quarter over the previous quarter. Chennai has clocked the highest quarterly growth of 241%. It is followed by Hyderabad (76%), Pune (58%), Delhi-NCR (38%) Mumbai(17%). The July-September quarter saw the sale of 14415 units in seven top cities against the sale of 12654 units in the last quarter. This significant increase in home sales has also resulted in some reduction in unsold inventory from 459378 to 457427.
Says Mr. Pradeep Aggarwal, Founder & Chairman, Signature Global Group and Chairman, Assocham National Council on Real Estate, Housing & Urban Development, ” Coming close on the heels of festive season, the pick-up in home sales is a very encouraging sign. It will boost the sentiment of home buyers. And this will in turn further convert the pent up demand into sales in the festive season, triggering realty revival”.
