The Rs 9000 crore Dwarka Expressway project with its multimodal connectivity through Rapid Rail Transport System, Metro Rail, Personal Transit System, besides Inter State Bus terminal, Railway Station and International airport , will serve as a big booster for the residents of this eway which provides an alternate and faster road route between Gurgaon and Delhi. .
The 28 km long Dwarka Expressway, also known as Northern Peripheral Road (NPR) between Shiv Murti )and Kherki Duala on NH248 is nearing completion. While about 19 km portion falling in Gurgaon is likely to be operational by the end of the year, the remaining about 9 km portion falling in Delhi will be completed next year. The entire stretch of the expressway will be operational by 15 August 2023.
As part of the multimodal connectivity , Dwarka Expressway will have direct and easy access to 130 km long Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS ) connecting Delhi-Gurgaon- Alwar. Dwarka Expressway’s seamless connectivity with NH248 will come handy as Rajiv Chowk , Kherki Duala and Manesar stations on RRTS , will provide easy link to this rapid rail system. Delhi-Alwar RRTS’s starting station at Sarai Kale Khan , will provide connectivity to Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Through Sarai Kale Khan, Dwarka expressway residents will also get connectivity to 82 km long Delhi- Meerut Rapid Transit System .The Delhi-Meerut corridor will be operational by March 2023, followed by Dwarka Expressway in August 2023.
Dwarka Expressway will also have an easy connectivity to the proposed Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) between Delhi and Manesar, also known as Pod Taxi System or Metrino The Union Transport Ministry is giving final touches to this Rs 5000 crore transport system that involves small automated vehicles operating on a network of specially built glideways. A similar project is also coming up between Jewar Airport and Noida Film City at a cost of Rs 810 crore.
Dwarka Expressway will also enjoy linkage wit the proposed extension of metro line from Huda City Centre to Old Gurgaon. Haryana government has already approved the DPR of this new 29 km elevated metro line to be contracted at a cost of Rs 6821 crore, having 27 elevated stations and six interchange stations. This metro line starting from Huda City Centre , will follow the route towards Sector 45, Cyber Park, District shopping Centre, Sector 47, Subhash Chowk, Udyog Vihar Phase 6, Sector 10, Sector 37, Sector 9, Sector 7 , Sector 4, Sector 5, Sector 3, Bajghera Road , Palam Vihar Extension, Sector 23A, Sector 22, Udyog Vihar 4 &5 before merging with the existing metro network of Rapid Metro network of Rapid Metrorail Gurgaon at Moulsari Avenue near Cyber City, MRTS corridor at Subhash Chowk will interchange with yellow line at Uda City Cenre, providing direct connectivity to a large part of Gurgaon with Delhi. This new metro line will pass right by the Dwarka Expressway.
Dwarka Expressway will be closely connected with the upcoming ISBT planned at Dwarka Sector 22 opposite Dwarka Sector 21 Metro Station which connects both the Blue Line (Dwarka -Vaishali-Noida Electronics City ) and the Airport Exress Line. . This centrally air conditioned ISBT which will come up over 27 acres, will have facilities comparable to the airport including an air-conditioned lounge. The ISBT will cater to buses coming from Punjab and will also cater to tourist buses going to Agra and Jaipur.
Dwarka Expressway will further ease connectivity with IGIA, New Delhi and make the commute much faster. In fact, all these multimodal transport means will greatly improve mobility within Gurgaon, outside Gurgaon to Delhi and other parts of NCR and beyond. This will not only enhance the living quotient of Dwarka Expressway but also prove to be highly beneficial for the growth of Dwarka real estate and property appreciation in this area.
