The much awaited Dwarka Expressway beginning from Dwarka in Delhi to Gurugram will be a major booster to connectivity. It is slated to be completed before 15 August, 2022 as Union minister Nitin Gadkari said on Friday. The connectivity to the region with other parts of the National Capital Region is going to improve in manifold. Realtors and developers have concurred that improved connectivity will be the most valuable upliftment to the region.
The first elevated 29 km Urban expressway is being constructed under the Bharatmala Project. This has a total estimated usage of 2 lakh metric tons (MT) of steel, which is 30 times more than the Eiffel Tower. The total estimated consumption of concrete is 20 lakh cubic metres which is six times more than than was used to construct Burj Khalifa. Moreover, this expressway immensely helps to reduce air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region and will also provide around 50 thousand direct or indirect employment opportunities.
