The draft policy of the Haryana government for building retirement homes for the elderly will help boost affordable housing and revive realty.
Haryana’s new housing policy has come in the backdrop of growing popularity of senior homes and increasing need for wellness homes. Under the new policy, homes for the elderly developed by private builders will have elaborate security and safety mechanisms. These senior residential complexes will provide medical services along with a health & fitness centre. These CCTV- monitored homes will have senior citizens-friendly kitchen, bathroom, ramps and staircases. Spacious parks and a common dining facility will be the other highlights of these homes. As per the rules, only senior citizens will be able to buy and live in these professionally managed homes .
Says Mr. Pradeep Aggarwal, Founder & Chairman, Signature Global and Chairman, Assocham National Council on Real Estate, Housing & Urban Development, “It is a thoughtful policy which will promote regulated development of retirement housing projects to address the needs of senior citizens. Through this policy, affordable housing will get further strengthened, paving the way for realty revival”.
