After two years of delay, the decks have been cleared for the Delhi portion of Dwarka Expressway , following NHAI nod to the contractor to start construction work for connecting Dwarka Sector 21 to Haryana border through a 4.5 km long elevated stretch from Dwarka Sector 21 underpass to Haryana border.
The 29 km long Dwarka Expressway will start from Shiv Murti at Mahipalpur and end at Kherki Daula toll plaza. It will be connected to Southern Peripheral Road through an interchange on the Delhi- Gurugram Expressway. The work on the Gurgaon portion of the Dwarka Expressway is on track to be completed by March 2019. The Rs 1500 crore building package on the Delhi side of the Expressway will comprise of separate elevated structures, a large inter change to provide connectivity on multiple sides and a toll plaza. There will be eight elevated lanes and six surface lanes with multiple entry and exit points from Urban Estate Road-2 and the India International Convention Centre in Dwarka, Sector 25.
