Directed by the Supreme Court panel to supply permanent electricity to all occupied residential societies in New gurugram by coming summer, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam is bracing up to construct 14 electricity switching stations at different locations along the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR)to ensure smooth power supply for residential societies in Sectors 58 to 80.
The switching stations are mandatorily built to end dependence on diesel generators for power back up in societies where there is either no official power supply or there is temporary connection. As a result of this the residents have to depend on diesel generators. In the absence of regular power connections, (DHBVN ) is temporarily supplying electricity to these residential societies through a 11 kv feeder , leading to frequent trippings and power outages . To redress this problem, DHBVN is adopting a two- pronged strategy of asking the developers to build these stations or build on its own and recovering cost from the developers.
Says Pradeep Aggarwal, Chairman, Assocham National Council of Real estate, Housing and Urban Development and Founder & Chairman Signature Global, ” This was a long overdue issue that had been adversely impacting the attractiveness of these strategically located sectors in New Gurugram. This will help residents of large number of societies in New gurugram including the one which we have recently launched in Sector 63 A, by way of uninterrupted government electricity supply.
And as this will put an end to diesel sets- generated power, residents will have a cleaner environment”.
