Government is not leaving any stone unturned to fulfill the mission of ‘Housing For All 2022’. The central and the state government both are bringing up different initiative to promote affordable housing. The Madhya Pradesh Government has recently decided to make women owners of the houses provided under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
The authorities in this regard have instructed to issue certificates and has asked to register the houses in the name of a women of the family. The move taken by the government is towards women empowerment and ensures to provide them an identity in the real estate sector like men. Also, the previous government decided to have PM Modi’s images on the tiles used in these houses. However, the present government scrapped the decision.
Mr. Pradeep Aggarwal, Chairman – ASSOCHAM National Council on Real Estate, Housing and Urban Development, Founder and Chairman – Signature Global India Pvt. Ltd. said, “The real estate sector has always been dominated by males, but the initiative taken by the government to make women owners of the houses provided under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a step towards women empowerment and is ensured to be applauded by the people in and out the industry.”
